The call

When she woke Lucy was amazed it was almost lunch time, unsure of her next move she timidly came out of her resting place. Luckily the beach was still deserted, she slowly made her way up the winding path towards the town. Lucy spotted some clothing drying on a nearby washing line. She quickly grabbed a cardigan and found a hat and sunglasses on a garden table, she put on her disguise as she approached town.

The town was so quiet Lucy could hardly believe it was the same place she had visited years ago. She could still remember how upset she had been after hearing that a hurricane had torn through the town, but she hadn't anticipated the devastation had been so vast. Few of the old building still stood and even after many years no new ones had been built. The old library was still standing and Lucy went there now, again it was deserted but this was exactly want Lucy wanted right now. After freshening up in the bathroom she used the library computer to find the phone number and made the call.

A meeting was set up that evening in the gym cafe Lucy couldn't remember if this building had always been here or not, the town was so different now but so was she. With some time to kill Lucy took a stroll around town she could barely remember what used to be where, but was amazed at the completely different atmosphere. The town felt so sleepy and still, the vibrant hustle and bustle she remembered so clearly was a distant memory.Lucy's stomach was rumbling violently now, it wouldn't hurt to get the gym early and get something to eat while she waited for him. She just hoped he had some good news for her.
