"Thank you for seeing me at such short notice Mr Mahoney"
"To be honest miss Hudson your case has me completely intrigued, it's not everyday a long lost relative turns up to claim an estate, especially in this town." Preston could sense Lucy's discomfort at his interest in her he couldn't help it, he just had an excitable nature and was interested in people. He tried to rein himself in and put on a professional front.

" I'm afraid i never met your grandmother but my wife Ariana remembers her well" he continued.
" I'm sure your aware that your grandmother passed away in the hurricane that destroyed the town many years ago, but i don't think you realise just how much damage the estate sustained"
" I used to visit here for holidays and remember the town before" said Lucy.
Preston nodded "It's all very sad the town although empty has at least been cleaned up, with no contactable heir the estate has been left pretty much how it was after" his voice trialled off.
"So i take it the house will need some work then" Lucy sighed.
" If you would like i can take you up there now?"
Lucy nodded in agreement.
As they neared the house Lucy could see just how bad it was but there was no going back. As much as she didn't want to live here there was no where else to go.
